LVN Course of Study
The Vocational Nursing Program at Lone Star College System is a 12-month (3 semester), 46 vocational credit hour program. The course has a minimum of 1,408 clock hours, as required by the Board of Nursing. Successful completion of all course requirements leads to Certificate in Vocational Nursing and eligibility to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-PN).

The program is a full-time, daytime course of study that includes summer classes. Students are typically in class from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for holidays and breaks recognized by the college district. Days at clinical facilities may begin as early as 6:30 a.m.
