Dual Cr/Ex Admit Admission Requirements
In order for students to be eligible for dual credit, the following must be in place:
Students 16 years of age or older must receive approval by the following criteria:
- The high school has an agreement with Lone Star College System
- The student is currently enrolled in high school
- The student meets the requirements for exceptional admissions
- The student has approval from high school and parent/guardian
Students younger than 16 years of age must receive approval by the following criteria:
- Students must meet TSI requirements in the areas that are applicable to the courses that the student wishes to enroll in and have the course prerequisites.
- Student's parent (or a designated responsible adult) agrees to be available at the campus location to monitor the student's activities outside of class while on a Lone Star College System college campus and to be immediately available in case of an emergency.
In addition to these requirements, students must meet both the TSI/SSI requirement and the college-level placement requirements.
Student can meet the TSI requirement by:
- Exempt scores based on ACT, SAT, or 10th grade or exit TAKS scores
- Achieving the minimum passing standard on ASSET, ACCUPLACER. COMPASS, or THEA.
High school counselors or college advisers can assist students in this area.
