Economics Course Information
- ECON 2301 - Principles of Macroeconomics
- ECON 2302 - Principles of Microeconomics
Both of these course are 3 semester credit hours each have the following prerequisites:
ENGL 0305 or ENGL 0316 AND ENGL 0307 or 0326, OR higher level course (ENGL 1301), OR placement by testing, Math 0306
Principles of Macroeconomics addresses the economy from the standpoint of an integrated aggregate market covering topics such as Gross Domestic Product (GDP), unemployment, inflation and international trade.
Principles of Microeconomics focuses on individual markets analyzing how prices and outputs are determined by the interaction of consumers and businesses.
Three hours of Economics are required for the Associates of Arts (A.A.) and Associates of Science (A.S.) degrees and for most business degrees and certificates.
- Both courses have wide acceptance as transfer courses to four year universities.
- ECON 2301 does not have to be taken before ECON 2302.
