Update your skills, discover a new talent, or chart a new career path at your own pace in the comfort of your own home or office. On-line courses make it easy to begin now to achieve your goals. The following 6-week on-line classes require Internet access, e-mail and the Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator web browser. In addition, some classes may require Windows, Excel or other software programs as indicated in the course description.
Follow these steps and you’re on your way: ∙ Register for classes with Lone Star College–Tomball.
- Click on the Tomball training website at www.ed2go.com/tomball to attend an orientation session.
- Click on Orientation. You will meet the instructor to receive a syllabus, and learn how to access your weekly lessons.
- Prerequisites: Use of Windows 95 or 98 or Windows 3.1; Internet access; e-mail; Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator Browser; and the software required in the courses.
- Books and diskettes are not required unless specifically stated in the course description. Required prerequisites may be waived if student has equivalent knowledge.
- After completing the required orientation, your name will be added to the class roster. The on-line Course Coordinator then verifies the roster, which “unlocks the class to give you access to your course lessons.
- All the courses start on the same day of each month (usually Wednesday).
- Students must officially withdraw before class begins to receive a refund.
- Registration deadline is the course start date. You have two weeks after the end date of class to complete the final exam.
- After successfully finishing the course, you will receive a certificate of completion.
