The office of the President provides coordinated leadership to the college community to create an environment which best fosters the proactive pursuit of education and the enrichment of the community as a whole.

Dr. Raymond Hawkins
Dr. Raymond Hawkins has more than 30 years of higher education experience, including 14 years as President of Tyler Junior College. He earned a Ph.D. at the University of Texas at Austin. His experience includes five (5) years teaching and ten (10) years in academic leadership positions prior to his appointment as President of Tyler Junior College in 1981.
Dr. Hawkins has served in many capacities in both professional and community associations including the Executive Committee of the American Association of Community Colleges; Board of Directors of the Southern Association of Community, Junior and Technical Colleges; President of the Texas Association of Community Colleges; President of the Association of Texas Colleges and Universities; President of the Texas Foundation for Volunteerism and Community Services; Chair of the Texas Commission for National and Community Service; Chair of the East Texas Economic Development Commission and President of the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Community College National Center for Community Engagement and was most recently selected to serve on the Board of Directors of The United Ways of Texas.
Dr. Hawkins served as Interim President of Lone Star College–Tomball beginning October 1, 2000 prior to being named President in January, 2001. He replaced Dr. Diane Troyer who was named president of Lone Star College–CyFair. He also served as Interim President of Lone Star College-North Harris for eight months before coming to Tomball.
Dr. Hawkins is married to the former Patricia Bonham Suber of Longview. Pat is employed by the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association as Director of Exhibits and Governance. Their extended family includes five children and six grandchildren.
