| Please note: The Lone Star College System Nursing Admissions Committee has removed the rule on applicants' being ineligible for admission due to repeating biology courses more than one time in five years. Students with multiple courses in Anatomy & Physiology will be considered for admission, and the course with the highest grade will be used in the ranking process. The 5 year rule remains in effect for all required biology courses, which must be completed within five years of the application deadline. Review courses are currently available through Community Education at Lone Star College-North Harris, or students may choose to repeat a course for a higher grade. BIOL 2404 Introductory Anatomy & Physiology may also be used as a review course if taken within five years of application. Older biology courses will be considered in the ranking process if the review courses have been completed before the application deadline. |
Program Description
The Associate Degree Nursing Track for Articulating Students (LVN and Paramedics) a three semester course of study that prepares graduates to take the state licensure examination for registered nurses and receive an Associate of Applied Science Degree. The ADN program is accredited by the Board of Nursing (BON) for the State of Texas and by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission, Inc.
The Track for Articulating Students format includes one summer session, entry into upper level nursing courses, and a role transition seminar in the final semester.

The Council of Nursing Directors approved the following (Dec 2005):
LVN’s and Paramedics who apply to the track “Transition to Professional Nursing for Articulating Students” may have no more than 7 credits outstanding to be considered for conditional admission. All outstanding credits must be completed by the time of enrollment into the program in the Summer session.
