Academic Suspension occurs when a student has a continuing history of low academic performance and when both the semester and cumulative GPA is below a 2.0.
You can confirm your semester and cumulative GPA by visiting the My Records (
http://www.lonestar.edu) web site or by obtaining an Advising Profile from the Admissions office of any Lone Star College System college.
Students who are placed on Academic Suspension:
- Are prohibited from registering on-line
- May be required to register for reduced course load
- May be required to participate in an intervention program
- May be denied enrollment for a minimum of one long semester
A student on suspension who is currently enrolled on a PASS contract for the semester will be required to wait for his/her semester grades in order to determine eligibility for future registration and will fall into one of the categories listed below:
- Any student on a Suspension status who achieves Academic Progress (earn a semester GPA of 2.0 or above), will no longer be on suspension and may proceed with on-line or in person registration for the subsequent semester. No PASS meeting will be necessary.
- Any student on suspension status who successfully completes his/her PASS contract is eligible to attend a PASS meeting after semester grades are posted and then complete the registration process.
- Any student who does not complete his/her PASS contract and does not maintain a minimum 2.0 semester GPA will be on an Enforced suspension for one long semester. You may appeal by following the process listed below:
