
Alternative Teaching Certificate
Lone Star College–Tomball is approved by the Texas Education Association/State Board for Educator Certification to offer preparation classes for alternative teacher certification. For individuals holding a bachelor's degree or higher, the Alternative Teacher Certification Program is an intensive 18 - 24 month program that includes:
- 108 hours of instruction in teaching methods and professional responsibilities
- 20-30 hours of classroom observation at a local school
- 1 year internship teaching in a local school with an experienced mentor teacher to act as a resource
- Preparation to take the state teacher certification exam (TExES)
This program is approved by the State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC).

Tomball sessions will take place in the Beckendorf Conference Center located on the Lone Star College-Tomball campus, 30555 Tomball Parkway, Tomball, TX 77375.
Willow Chase sessions will take place at 9449 Grant Road, Houston, TX 77070.
PPR Classes: Fall 2008 PPR classes will take place as follows:
