Enhancing Online Teaching and Learning
Goals of the “Enhancing Online Teaching and Learning” FLC:
• Enhance the quality of online distance course design
• Enhance the quality of the online LSC-Online experience for students
• Encourage reflection about distance teaching and learning
• Build community among discipline faculty
• Nourish the scholarship of teaching and its application to student learning
• Other goals as determined by participants
Who should participate?
The “Enhancing Online Teaching and Learning” FLC is designed for faculty who have completed or who are in the process of completing Level I in the Online Teaching Certification Program from Lone Star College-Online. Faculty who have completed or who are in the process of completing Level II are also encouraged to participate as an avenue for further discussion. Chairs and deans may also benefit. The ideal cohort for an FLC numbers between 8 and 12.
Meetings:
The “Enhancing Online Teaching and Learning” FLC will meet for 10 sessions (generally twice a month) beginning in September and running through the Spring semester. Faculty must commit to attending 8 sessions. Sessions will last for 2 hours for a total of 20 hours.
