Circulation rules serve to provide the greatest number of patrons access to the library’s collections in the most timely manner. Please remember, the collections are a shared resource and each borrower needs to be sensitive to the research needs of others. Please return or renew materials by the date indicated on the date slip or card.
Library Cards are available to current students at the Circulation desk of all Lone Star College System college libraries.
Non-Circulating Items
Periodicals, reference and instructional print/audio-visual items may be used in the library only.
Requesting Materials From Other Libraries
Intra-Library Loan -- Most circulating materials may be requested from member libraries that share the online catalog, HARMONIC (Harris Montgomery Information Consortium). This covers the materials of Tomball, Cy-fair, Kingwood, Montgomery and Lone Star College-North Harris libraries (Lone Star College System, Lone Star College System), all branches of the Harris County Public Library (HCPL) System, and Montgomery County Memorial Library System (MCMLS).
To request books online, use the Request option on the online catalog. Allow 2-3 days for delivery of items from HCPL branches and Lone Star College System college libraries. Allow one week for requests from MCMLS branches.
Interlibrary (ILL) Loan -- Materials not available within the Consortium may be requested from other libraries. Use the ILL forms available at the Reference Desk. Allow 2-3 weeks minimum for delivery.
Overdues and Fines
Overdue fines at the College libraries are 10 cents per day per item to a $3.00 maximum per item. Reserve material fines are 50¢ per hour per item to a $6.00 maximum per item. Unresolved library obligations may result in suspended checkout privileges and holds may be placed on transcripts. Overdue fines may be paid at or mailed to any member library of the Consortium. Please note that with mailed payments, holds are cleared when payment is received.
Lost Book Charges
All lost item charges include the cost of the item as determined by the library. Patrons should keep payment receipts. In the event that a lost item is later found, the patron is responsible for presenting thepaid receipt for a refund.
Returning Materials
Materials may be returned to any Consortium library. Book drops are available on each floor inside Lone Star College–Tomball and Community Library, near the Reserve/Circulation desks. There is also another book drop on the outside of the building near the drive-thru window.

Renewals
Items may be renewed twice unless another patron has requested the item. Online and phone (call 713.747.4763 or 832.559.4206) renewals are permitted.
Go to My Account to check and renew items that are checked out, check overdue charges, view items on hold, verify items on loan, and to review personal information. You will need your library barcode and PIN (usually the last 4 digits of your phone number) to access this information. OTHER SERVICES
- Patrons may obtain a list of titles currently checked out to them at the Catalog terminals.
- The library Lost and Found is located at the Circulation Desk on the 1st floor.
- TexShare cards are available at the Circulation Desk. Any currently enrolled Lone Star College System credit student, faculty or staff in good standing with our library, may obtain a TEXSHARE card.
