    The Candace Grace Howard Memorial Scholarship at Lone Star College-Tomball has qualified as an endowment in record time, which is a testimony to the "wonderful person my daughter was and the importance of this scholarship to the community and the college," says Howard's father, Bill.

  • College Receives Award for Service

    The Corporation for National and Community Service has named Lone Star College-Tomball to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for exemplary service efforts and service to disadvantaged youth.

  • Math Dept. Develops Second Endowment

    A second endowed scholarship from the Lone Star College-Tomball Math Department will provide more financial opportunities for math students while also honoring former instructors. <p>The LSC-Tomball Mathematics Excellence Endowment in honor of retirees Patricia Funderberg, Dr. Bill Powell, and Dr. Dorothy Stowers will provide a yearly $1,000 scholarship for students in college-level math courses. The math department created the first $15,000 endowment for LSC-Tomball math students in 2004.</p>

    In 1971, a group of dedicated Tomball citizens recognized the lack of opportunities in higher education in the Tomball area and decided to become a charter member of the new college District that was to be formed the following year.

Courses are held on-campus and clinicals conducted at off-campus local hospital sites to enable students to have training in functional operating rooms.

    The Associate of Arts in Teaching satisfies the lower division (i.e. freshman and sophomore level) requirements for a bachelor’s degree leading to initial Texas teacher certification. It also qualifies one to become a professional teacher's aide.
