Location
The Lone Star College–Willow Chase Center Library is located in Room 116 and is equipped with about 20 computers which may be used to access thousands of electronic books and journals through the library's online databases and online catalog. The library also has a few print and audio-visual items on reserve for student use.
Print books and audio-visual items can also be sent to the library from any Lone Star College, Harris County or Montgomery County library by using the request feature in the online catalog.
Library Cards
Students, faculty and staff, with a photo ID, may obtain Lone Star College library cards during any of the hours that the library is open.
At the request of a faculty member, the reference librarian will plan and conduct a classroom session based on a course assignment, often preparing customized handouts for each class. Orientations are conducted in a computer classroom and include a demonstration of electronic information sources. The computer classrooms have approximately 24 computer workstations giving students a hands-on experience using the library's online resources.
How to Request Library Instruction
Please make your request for a class library instruction session at least 1-2 weeks in advance. The library receives a great number of requests for orientations and time is needed to prepare for these classes. Each request for a library instruction session will be honored on a first-come, first-serve basis. To maximize the effectiveness of the orientation, please provide the librarian with a copy of the class assignment.
To schedule a library instructional session for your class, please contact the reference librarian at:
New Faculty Orientations
